Aurora Simulator

AuroraScape Grid Instance in your PC (this post is outdated since Aurorascape grid closed down, I'm now running this aurorasim instance as localhost)
Here is how to get an Aurorasim instance running in your PC and linked to AuroraScape grid.
Go to AuroraScape.com site and download the Simple Version. Follow video there for instructions.

Once you got your instance up and running and before making any change on it you may want to make a copy so you will have a new fresh and clean instance "just in case" well backed up.
For doing this you first shutdown console and then restart your PC. Only now you can take the entire AuroraScape folder and send to a zip file.

Uploading Opensim Oar to AuroraSim
There are a few tricks you need to know here. I learned it in the hard way and thanks to Serge Misfit helpful hand. I'm sure he won't care if I quote his words here:

"You will need to save each OpenSim region individually. If you don't already have them as separate OARs, then you will need to do this. Make sure your OpenSim megaregion has contiguous region feature disabled. You want to treat each region individually to do all this.

First, as a 'better safe than sorry' step, save the terrain of each of your OpenSim regions. I have found that the .png works best, rather than .raw format. You will end up with 16 terrain map. Next, save the OAR for each region.  You should now have 16 terrain maps and 16 OARs.

Next, go to your offline AS instance and import the terrain files, NOT the OARs, to your instance using the appropriate OffSet values. Once that is done, go around and tidy up with some terraforming. Once you are satisfied with that, save the terrain. You will now have a terrain map for the whole 1024region that you can import to fix any land problems later on.

Next, hadnling the OARs. You will have to import them one at a time and without any OffSet function, especially as it won't work anyway. I recommend starting with the OAR for the NorthEast corner and working your way to the SouthWest for the next steps.

This will be simple enough, but it will take time. You import an OAR. Go inworld and manually move everything into position. Once everything from that OAR has been moved, import the next one. Keep on doing this until all 16 OARs have been imported and moved into their proper places.

At the very end, load that 1024 terrain you saved earlier"

Thank you again Serge.

Your AuroraScape instance as Standalone
1-Shut down your AuroraScape instance and restart your PC.
Only now you can make a copy of the entire folder and name it LOCAL.

2-In this LOCAL, navigate to bin folder.
There are a few files you have to cut off the ".example" extension on them to make it functioning as local:

-bin/Configuration/Standalone/Standalone.ini
-bin/Configuration/Standalone/StandaloneCommon.ini
-bin/Configuration/Standalone/WebInterface.ini
-bin/Configuration/Standalone/GridInfoService.ini (tho not sure if it is really necesary, edit this file and "comment" the lines about localhost 127.0.0.1 by removing the ";" in front of each line).
Now edit:
-bin/Regions/Regions.ini file and change to localhost info data.

-bin/Configuration/Main.ini file. In this one change the comment command ";" from the Standalone line to the Grid line so will look like next:

;;If you would like to use Aurora in standalone, select this file.
    Include-Standalone = Configuration/Standalone/StandaloneCommon.ini

;;If you would like to use Aurora in grid mode, select this file.

    ;Include-Grid = Configuration/Grid/AuroraGridCommon.ini

3-Run Aurora.exe now (console will ask you for avatar owner name, password and Estate name).

As it is a new owner for your local, and all content there does not belong to your new avatar (even if holding the same name).
So you have to fix this by saving the oar and reloading again.

4-Set viewer's grid selector for localhost and log in.
